MASIA: The Masía is home to the only circular Romanesque chapel in the region, which dates back to the 11th century. In the 19th century, the property was home to Rius i Taulet, the historic mayor of Barcelona who promoted the 1888 Universal Exhibition and was named Marquis of Olèrdola, hence the name of the house. A 3 stage house, it has 5 renovated bedrooms. But the most special it's the Marquis' house. Rius i Taulet bureau remains at the house.
SWIMMING POOL & GARDEN: At the back of the Masía is a romantic garden with hundred-year-old trees and an as yet unrenovated swimming pool tiled in the belle époque style, surrounded by fruit trees and vineyards.
VINEYARD: The Masía is surrounded by more than 12 hectares of its own organically farmed vineyards, featuring primarily local varieties, such as Xarel·lo and Macabeu, along with other grapes like Merlot, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, from which well-known wineries in the area produce their cava and wine.
CHAPEL: The first references to the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre date back to 1058. It was then that this unique circular Romanesque chapel, the only one of its kind in the region, was built, and it is still standing today, attached to the house. The chapel’s thousand-year-old frescos were discovered in 1954. These Romanesque paintings have huge historical and artistic value.
30-40 minutes away from Barcelona near the highway exit.
