In the Middle Ages, Carrer Cavallers was where the city’s leading noble families had their homes and palaces. Today, number 14, once the abode of the powerful Castellarnau family, is a museum. Of special note are the winding stairway and gothic columns of the courtyard. The house itself, which was originally built in the 15th century, has undergone multiple renovations, and visitors can explore several rooms on the main floor done primarily in 18th- and 19th-century styles.
