This year celebrates its 31st edition

The Mostra de Dones (MIFDB) has unveiled its programming for this year. This edition proposes to take our look at the resistance that emerges from the disruptive, militant, and insistent gesture of standing up. This time the Mostra will be present with its programming at two periods of the year. The first begins at the end of this month, on May 31, and will last until July 12, and the second during the fall.

The Mostra presents four programming sections. Filmic persistences proposes a dialogue between contemporary cinema with films rescued from other historical moments. This year its Retrospective is dedicated to Yvonne Rainer, a choreographer, dancer, and filmmaker with a disruptive and original filmography born from the desire to change film conventions. In Cinema Out of Place, we will see five screenings in different squares in the districts of Ciutat Vella, Gràcia, and Nou Barris, where you can see dyke comedies from the nineties where parody and collective laughter are at the service of gender dissent and sexual. Finally, the special sessions, where they forge alliances with artists and thinkers who take this spirit beyond the strict cinematographic discipline.

On Monday, May 22, they celebrate a film presentation party for the Cinema Out of Place with I feel strange x MIFDB (at Candi Darling, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 586). Violeta Kovacsics and María Adell will be the masters of the ceremony, also presenting their podcast Lliçons d'història.
