Recommendations to see at home (XII)

06/05/2020

Series, programs and films that have been filmed in Barcelona

This is the twelth week of confinement and here we have a new round of our recommendations to make these difficult days a little better. We are already in phase 1 but we continue with our compilation of these recommendations we make via social media every day. They are movies and television series, programs, documentaries, and different audiovisuals. You can see them open or on various paid platforms. All of them have filmed in our city.

  • The International Women's Film Festival began on Monday. It will be available online until June 14 and you can watch documentaries, fiction and short films directed by women and also enjoy parallel online activities such as talks or workshops. You can see it in Filmin.
  • You can see this week's Tabús program à la carte. In this chapter, David Verdaguer lives with Silvia, Franciscu, Iolanda, Gorka and Rosa, 5 people from the LGTBI community. Together, they will try to break all the clichés surrounding lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual and intersex people and fight to get rid of all the hashtags that accompany them. You can see it on tv3 website.
  • Canal 33 continues to broadcast films from the Gaudí Cycle. Some can be seen à la carte, such as Pau Freixas Heroes. A young publicist, with professional success, but with an empty personal life, is immersed in a journey against the clock to arrive on time for an important business meeting. During the journey he meets a girl with whom, despite his opposite ways of living, he will connect and end up reminiscing about the most mythical and emotional time of his childhood: the last summer with the gang. You can watch it on tv3.
  • This week was the last chapter of the third season of Killing Eve. Remember that the series has filmed in our cities its firts chapters. So you can see the whole season in its entirety on HBO.
  • Until June 28, you can enjoy the African and Women's Film Exhibition online and for free. It is an initiative of the Africadoolu Association, which offers 8 essential films for lovers of African cinema. The cycle brings films with a gender perspective and also includes works by pioneering women filmmakers in Africa. You can see it here.
