Filmin is a video-on-demand platform based in Spain, specializing mainly in independent and auteur cinema. It has maintained its pioneering character since its creation in 2007. Filmin offers more than 10,000 feature films and television series, in addition to 1,100 short films.

Founded by some of the main Spanish film producers, distributors and exhibitors, such as El Deseo (Pedro and Agustín Almodóvar), Tornasol (Gerardo Herrero), Wanda Visión (José Maria Morales), Vértigo (Wild Bunch), Avalon Distribución, Golem Distribución, Versus Entertainment and Cameo Media. It was the first company to offer subscription services (SVOD), to develop an application for iPad and iPhone, to offer streaming in High Definition and to create online film festivals.

Awarded, among others, with the Creu de Sant Jordi, the National Digital Communication Award, the Ciutat de Barcelona Award, the Muriel Casals Communication Award from Òmnium Cultural, the Plataforma per la Llengua Award for FilminCat, the Tendències Award from El Mundo, the Time Out Award for the most innovative company, the Golden LAUS for the FilminKIDS app and the Silver LAUS for the FilminKIDS user experience.

Filmin founded AEVOD, the Spanish Association of Video On Demand Companies, which has chaired since then. It is also one of the founding members of EuroVOD, the first European Online Cinema Association that develops the tools and mechanisms necessary to create a unified platform.
