Joel Joan is a real-life actor, well-known to Catalan audiences, who plays himself in this series. He is incongruous, inconsistent, intransigent, indecent, impossible, and insatiable. At the age of 42 he’s already burned himself out, along with everyone around him. No-one wants to works with him. Nonetheless, he decides to do whatever it takes to land a leading role in a big film. There is never a dull character or a dull moment in The Crackpot series. A sharp-edged, almost therapeutic parody of the audience's take on the world of film and television, cleverly focusing on the actors’ public image and the world in which they are immersed.
