The Mexican Suitcase tells the story of the recovery of 4,500 negatives taken by renowned photographers, Robert Capa, Gerda Taro and David 'Chim' Seymour during the Spanish Civil War, which were recovered 70 years later in a closet in Mexico City. The Mexican Suitcase looks at the journey of these negatives from France to Mexico and their survival. This film is a braid consisting of three narratives: the story of the suitcase, the role Mexico played during the Spanish Civil War and its unique support for the Republic, and looks at how Spain reflects today on its own past, thirty years after Transition.
