NORTHERN IRELAND AND GAME OF THRONES, AT CINEPOSIUM

06/26/2015

How has Northern Ireland been promoted after the Game of Thrones' shootings?

One of the topics addressed at Cineposium, the annual international congress of members of the Association of Film Commissioners, is the analysis of how Northern Ireland has capitalized on the promotion of the series Game of Thrones.

Normally, a film production is a unique event that takes place in a specific place. And for this reason, the benefit of that space is closely linked to the release date of the film. In the case of the production of a television series, the gain is greater and more noticeable. This session will address the challenge of movie companies in managing and filming in a specific location, where tourism is increasing at the same time.

Specifically, the speaker is going to explain us the case of Northern Ireland and how has the country created relationships and synergies working closer with the Northern Ireland Tourist Office and HBO to promote and manage access to areas of shootings and to encourage the local community in this project.
